Smarter Shopping... your own town centre e-commerce website
This exciting e-commerce scheme has been launched to increase your town centre business. The website is primarily designed to help the shops that make the shopping experience in your town so different – the highly valued independent retailers!
This scheme is based upon an innovative new website designed to create an e-commerce channel for the owner/operated businesses, selling a selection of their products via the Internet and also act as a promotional tool for the town centre in exposing the hidden gems of your town to on-line visitors to the site.
Exposing the hidden gems of your Town Centre
The concept is fully backed by multiple retailers and shopping centre managers who know that the independent retailers of your town centre really add the shopping experience. The wide range of independent shops add excitement to shopping in town, they increase dwell time and build frequency of visit – this footfall is vital to all retailers, big and small, and equally important to the Landlords who charge the rents and the Council that levies business rates. Without the independents - everyone looses!
An online shop
This website is not a simple directory – it is a fully integrated e-commerce website that will allow independent business to sell their top 20 or more items online.
It is important to note that the site will offer only a selection of goods and services online and key to the success is to raise awareness of additional products in the independent shops and increase awareness of other independent retailers in adjacent streets and throughout the town. This in turn will increase footfall to your town centre.
Reserve and Wrap
The last thing we want is for the site to purely sell online – we want to help build footfall to your Town Centre. We hope business will participate in our Reserve and Wrap option – this allows an online visitor to purchase online but reserve and collect the product on their next visit into town – the incentive being a free gift wrapping service. This will ensure the visitor comes into the shop and has the opportunity to see the full range of products – and all it will cost a retailer is a little time and a sheet of wrapping paper.
Adding to the independent retailers bottom line – Smarter Retailing
Remember –the sales achieved online will be in addition to the retailers’ normal turnover – shoppers nationwide will be able to easily find and purchase online. More local shoppers will have a choice of buying online or collecting their chosen products. The gross profit of these sales will go straight to your retailers’ bottom line – usual costs such as rent, rates, heating and lighting – accountancy and the rest, all remain the same. These sales are all additional margin and uptake by independents have been positive.
Our Town already has a website
Great –but do you just have a directory website – can your retailers sell online via a secure single payment gateway?
And the more exposure you have on The Web the better. The hardest part is being found by the search engines – they love pages…the more pages the better. Imagine phase one - we have just 50 retailer with only 20 products online – that’s 1000 pages – in phase 2 we hope to have 100 retailers with 50 products – that’s 5000 pages…one log does not make a decent fire as they say!
What do retailers need to trade online
Our fully integrated system is easy to use and manage. Retailers simply register online and create their own shop profile. From there they add product details, images, postage a packaging details etc.
All they need is:
- Full contact details and trading name
- A good quality image of their shop / restaurant / retail unit front or interior
- Good quality images of 20 / 30 products they would like to promote with full description, price and weight
How do I create an ATLS scheme for my Town Centre?
Simply contact peter@allthelittleshops.co.uk to arrange an initial meeting to discuss your town centre and potential numbers of independent retailers and products that may join the scheme. From there we can discuss the marketing and launch strategies and tailor a scheme to suit your budget.
